Our hearts go out to her mother, daughter, and loved ones. She left too soon. We would like to commemorate her contributions during this time.” The whole hall enjoyed Whitney Houston’s song I will always love you again. |
Taking on the role of host this year's awards ceremony is singer and actor LL Cool J, who has twice won the Grammy for best rap solo performance in 1992 and 1997. LL Cool J is known for his sweet ballads and is also one of the pioneers of hip hop.
The Grammy Awards marked many special performances such as Adele's first return after surgery, the first reunion of The Beach Boys after 20 years, Katy Perry's first return after divorce, the duet between Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood, special electronic dance performances by Skrillex, Foo Fighters, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, David Guetta and Deadmau5...
In addition, the awards ceremony also featured a series of famous stars such as Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Paul McCartney,...
The day before the Grammy Awards, the legendary singer Whitney Houston suddenly passed away, leaving many fans around the world in mourning. The Grammy Awards organizers announced on their official website that the show would include a tribute to Whitney Houston through a song performed by Jennifer Hudson. This reminded people of the BET Awards in 2009, which had to be completely redesigned after Michael Jackson passed away just a few days before.
At the pre-Grammy party, Academy President Neil Portnow said: “The Grammys are huge, with three stages, thousands of microphones and costumes, so it's very difficult to move them in 11 hours.”
However, he promised to be creative and appropriate, doing everything possible to remember Whitney Houston. “She will certainly be in our hearts,” he said.
Leading the nominations this year is rapper Kanye West with 7 nominations, followed by British singer Adele with 6 nominations. Lil Wayne, Skrillex and Radiohead each received 5 nominations. Bon Iver received 4 nominations. Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift received 3 nominations.
The pre-Grammy show took place at 1 p.m. on February 12 (early morning of February 13, Vietnam time).
