Award Ceremony of the Art Photography Festival of 6 North Central provinces

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 19 in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists - Quang Binh Province Literature and Arts Association solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Artistic Photography Festival of 6 North Central provinces.

Attending the opening ceremony were photographer Vu Quoc Khanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Nguyen Xuan Quang - Member of the Standing Committee - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, along with leaders of the Literature Association and photographers of 6 provinces in the North Central region.

As scheduled, rotating once a year, the 21st North Central Province Art Photography Festival, 2014, hosted by the Quang Binh Province Literature and Arts Association, in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, with the theme: "Country - People of North Central". After nearly a year of launching, the Organizing Committee has received 1,240 photos from 200 authors from 6 provinces of Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue. Nghe An sent 268 works from 41 authors, the unit with the largest number of photos and authors participating in the contest and also the unit with the largest number of photos selected for exhibition (27 works) from 21 authors.

After a day of hard work, impartiality, through 5 rounds of judging and selecting photos for the exhibition, the Jury of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists selected 125 works for exhibition, of which 11 works were awarded. Nghe An was also the unit with the most awards and the highest prize (4 prizes including 1 Gold medal, 1 Bronze medal and 2 KK prizes); In the one-day marathon photo contest with the theme of the life of fishermen in Quang Binh, the Nghe An delegation won one first prize and one third prize.

The head of the festival organizing committee awarded flags to the two winning team units: Nghe An and Quang Binh; and awarded the 2015 host unit flag to the Ha Tinh Literature and Arts Association.
