Awarding ceremony of "Young Vietnamese Science Talent" in 2013
On the morning of January 4, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST); the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organized the 2013 “Young Vietnamese Scientific Talent” Award Ceremony for students of universities and institutes nationwide.

Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice President; Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training; Nguyen Quan, Minister of Science and Technology attended and presented the awards.
The Organizing Committee of the 2013 “Young Vietnamese Science Talent” Award awarded a total of 211/302 scientific research topics of students from 12 groups of majors; including 10 First prizes, each worth 5 million VND/topic; 27 Second prizes, each worth 3 million VND/topic; 72 Third prizes, each worth 2 million VND/topic; 102 Consolation prizes, each worth 1 million VND/topic.
In the context of the education and training sector strongly implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, innovation in science and technology activities in universities in general and scientific research of students in particular will be one of the important solutions to innovate teaching and learning methods in schools to improve the quality of high-level human resources, meeting the requirements of the country's industrialization and modernization.
According to experts, the quality of this year's "Young Vietnamese Science Talent" Award is quite good. The Award has gathered many scientific research topics of students that are innovative, creative, have rich content and have the ability to be applied in real life.
The highlight of this year's competition is that a number of students have had scientific publications from the research results of the topic published in domestic and international journals or the topic's products have been applied in practice. For example, student Do Duy Hieu - University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi won First Prize in the field of Natural Sciences, had a scientific article published in the Michigan Mathematical Journal (SCI); the group of authors led by student Luong Quoc Hung, Vietnam National University of Agriculture won First Prize in the field of Agricultural Sciences, had a scientific article published in the Veterinary Science and Technology Journal; the product of the topic on manufacturing a magnetic compass that meets the requirements of maritime signal standards won First Prize in the field of Science and Technology by student Dao Manh Han, Maritime University, has been tested at Gia Khanh Automation Company Limited...
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 9 lecturers who guided students to carry out 10 first-prize winning projects and 22 schools with outstanding achievements in organizing scientific research activities of students.
