Awarding Vallet scholarships to excellent students
(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, September 5, the scientific organization "Meeting Vietnam" awarded the 2012 Odon Vallet scholarships to excellent students in the province.
Attending the event on behalf of the Organization were Professor Odon Vallet (Sorbonne University), Professor Le Kim Ngoc; Professor Tran Thanh Van; On behalf of the province, there was Comrade To Hong Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, the Association for Promotion of Education, teachers and students.
Professor Odon Vallet and comrade To Hong Hai awarded scholarships to two excellent students.
Odon Vallet is a doctor of science in Law, professor of religious history at the world-famous Sorbonne University, and a writer of philosophical essays. He inherited a large fortune, worth 100 million euros, all of which he deposited in the bank, and annually used the interest to give scholarships to excellent young people in France, Belin and Vietnam.
Appreciating the scientific and educational development activities of the organization “Meeting Vietnam”, Professor Odon Vallet contributed to the scholarship fund of this organization and named the scholarship “Vallet Scholarship”. This is one of the scholarships with relatively large value for students. The scholarship is reviewed and awarded annually, starting from 2001 to present.
122 high school and middle school students received scholarships in 2012.
In 2012, Nghe An was honored to have 144 excellent students from 22 schools receiving Odon Vallet scholarships, including 22 students (11 million VND/student); 122 students (7 million VND/student).
