(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 28, 2015, the Vinh City Party Committee and People's Committee held a ceremony to award the First, Second and Third Class Fatherland Protection Medals to 22 retired senior military officers in the area.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Nguyen Xuan Giap, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Awarding the Fatherland Protection Medal to retired senior officials

The Fatherland Protection Medal is a noble award of the Party and State awarded to senior military officers who have held command and leadership positions from the Deputy Regiment level and above, who have made outstanding achievements in training, combat and combat service, building the People's Army, consolidating National Defense, contributing to the cause of building Socialism and defending the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Colonel Nguyen Xuan Giap and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh awarded the Fatherland Protection Medal to 22 retired senior military officers in the area. Of these, 6 comrades received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal, 8 comrades received the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal, and 8 comrades received the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal. The 22 senior military officers receiving the Medal this time, the vast majority of whom are war invalids, have participated in combat and served in combat during the war, and have made many contributions to the cause of building the Army and protecting the Fatherland in many different positions.
