Awarding the 55-year Party membership badge to former President Tran Duc Luong
On the afternoon of December 29, at the Presidential Palace, the Party Committee of the Office of the President held a ceremony to award the 55-year Party membership badge to former Politburo member and former President Tran Duc Luong.
President Truong Tan Sang; former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh; Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan; along with representatives of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies and a large number of Party members of the Office of the President attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Truong Tan Sang warmly congratulated Mr. Tran Duc Luong and his family on the honor of receiving the 55-year Party membership badge. Reviewing the revolutionary activities of former President Tran Duc Luong, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that, regardless of his position, Mr. Tran Duc Luong always upheld the pioneering and exemplary character of a Party member, was loyal to the Party and the Fatherland, wholeheartedly served the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, fulfilled the important responsibilities assigned, and was worthy of the trust of the Party, the State and the people.
President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that the awarding of the 55-year Party membership badge to Mr. Tran Duc Luong is the Party's recognition of his achievements and contributions throughout his revolutionary career. This is an honor and pride for Mr. Tran Duc Luong and his family in particular, and for the Party Committee of the Office of the President in general.
The process of studying, training, striving and maturing of former President Tran Duc Luong is a shining example for generations of young party members to learn and follow. On this occasion, President Truong Tan Sang expressed his wish that Mr. Tran Duc Luong will be healthy and continue to make contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the people.
Moved when receiving the 55-year Party badge, former President Tran Duc Luong expressed his pride in being a Party member, proud that under the Party's leadership over the past 80 years, our country has achieved great achievements in the cause of national liberation, national unification as well as the current cause of national construction and development.
Affirming that over 30 years of renovation led by the Party, the country has overcome many difficulties and challenges. However, in the context of integration, many challenges have also been posed. Former President Tran Duc Luong believes that with the glorious revolutionary tradition, our Party, State and people will overcome difficulties and successfully carry out the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
