Amnesty Decision granted to 33 prisoners released from prison before their term ends
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 31, 33 prisoners serving sentences at Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center were granted early amnesty on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
Attending the ceremony to announce the amnesty decision were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of the Provincial Police Department, along with representatives of relevant departments, agencies and a large number of prisoners and their families.

The 33 prisoners granted amnesty on this occasion are those who have made efforts, trained well, and reformed well and are in accordance with the criteria of the Amnesty Law. They were seriously, fairly, and strictly reviewed by the Amnesty Review Council among 146 prisoners serving prison sentences at the Provincial Police Detention Center.

Prisoners who were pardoned and had their prison sentences reduced on this occasion were mainly involved in groups of crimes such as violating regulations on road traffic control, intentionally causing injury, human trafficking, illegal trading of explosives, disturbing public order, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony to hand over the amnesty decision, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: This is a remarkable result, demonstrating the efforts of prisoners to reform as well as the efforts of Nghe An Provincial Police in general, officers and soldiers of the Detention Camp in particular in the work of managing, educating and rehabilitating prisoners and the attention, direction and coordination of provincial departments, branches and organizations. The amnesty decision demonstrates the humane policy, strict punishment combined with leniency of our Party and State.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Nghe An Provincial Police must do a good job of advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to direct units and localities to do a good job of receiving, managing, and helping pardoned people to quickly reintegrate into the community, creating conditions for borrowing capital, stabilizing jobs; promptly providing relevant information about pardoned people to units and localities, especially those prisoners with certain talents and strengths, with vocational certificates trained at the Detention Center, so that they can be supported and created jobs for them as soon as they are released from prison.
