Awarding the 50-year Party badge to People's Armed Forces Hero Vu Chong Pao

(Baonghean.vn)-On November 23, at Son Ha village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, a ceremony was held to award the 50-year Party badge to comrade Vu Chong Pao - former Honorary Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Attending the awarding ceremony were comrade Dau Van Thanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, leaders of Ky Son district and many local people.

At 83 years old and 50 years in the party, Mr. Vu Chong Pao has devoted his whole life to the peace of the western border region of Nghe An. In 1954, he had the honor of meeting Uncle Ho, who directly taught him how to suppress bandits. Since 1969, Mr. Vu Chong Pao was assigned the important responsibility of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district, and he held this position for 20 years. After that, he held the position of Chairman of the People's Council of the district. With his prestige, he was like a spiritual father, all his words and actions were agreed upon and followed by the people of all ethnic groups.

With those contributions, in 2010, the Party and State awarded Mr. Vu Chong Pao the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to save the country. In early 2013, he was retired by the State as Honorary Vice President of the Fatherland Front of Nghe An province.

At the ceremony, comrade Dau Van Thanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board awarded the title of 50 years of Party membership and wished him a long life, to forever be a shining example for the people of Ky Son in particular and the ethnic groups in western Nghe An in general to learn and follow.
