This morning (May 29), in Da Nang City, representatives of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to award the "Brave Youth" badge to 2 Coast Guard officers and certificates of merit to 2 crew members of Coast Guard Region 2, Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Major Thai Duc Hanh - Standing Member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Head of the Army Youth Department directly awarded the "Brave Youth" badge to two Coast Guard soldiers: Senior Lieutenant Le Trung Thanh, captain of ship CSB 4003 and Senior Lieutenant Doan Minh Khoa, captain of ship CSB 2012.

Awarding certificates of merit from the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to two professional Second Lieutenants: Nguyen Doan Tu, staff of ship CSB 2012 and Nguyen Trung Thanh, staff of ship CSB 4033, both of Squadron 201, Coast Guard Region 2, Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

They directly participated in successfully handling many complicated situations during the struggle with Chinese ships in the field, and took brave actions in carrying out the task of fighting to prevent China from placing the Haiyang Shiyou 981 drilling rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
