(Baonghean.vn) -Regarding the fact that 48 students in Van Ha village, Quang Son commune, Do Luong district have not been able to go to school for more than a year, on the afternoon of October 7, in Vinh city, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee had a dialogue with 5 people from Van Ha village (including 3 parents, 2 grandfathers and uncles whose children and grandchildren have not yet gone to school).
Attending the dialogue were comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, Do Luong district and a number of relevant departments and branches.

At the dialogue, 5 people from Van Ha village took turns speaking up about the unreasonable reasons why they did not send their children to school to protest the policy of merging the satellite school into the main school, such as the long distance, the children's poor health, parents busy working, not having money to buy gas to take their children to school; economic difficulties, not having money to send their children to boarding school...

At the same time, they asked some parents and people of Van Ha village to agree with the merger policy for the sake of their children's future to ensure their right to education - one of the most basic rights of children protected by law.

After listening to the opinions and discussions at the dialogue, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Duc Phoc concluded: The policy of merging the Van Ha satellite school into the main Quang Son Primary School to develop comprehensive education is completely correct and consistent with the school network planning of the province as well as the locality. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that parents of Van Ha village must have the responsibility to coordinate with the school and society in ensuring that their children can go to school.

Regarding some difficulties raised by parents in Van Ha village, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the local government, the Education sector and departments at all levels to continue implementing support solutions for transportation, boarding, tutoring, transportation, and helping to pick up and drop off children if parents are too busy to take their children to school... At the same time, he assigned the police force to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle subjects who incite and prevent children from going to school and have acts of vandalism against citizens' property (burning straw, destroying rice)... in accordance with the provisions of the law.
