(Baonghean) -Following Mr. Tran Dinh Dung, Head of Project 3 of the Traffic Project Management Board, to inspect the progress of the National Highway 1A expansion and upgrading project, Dien Chau - Quan Hanh section, one of the key projects of the province, we stopped at the construction site of the railway overpass under package 2 undertaken by Thuan An Construction Joint Stock Company.
After the full moon, the working atmosphere has returned to the rhythm of normal days. At the construction site of the railway overpass, cranes are diligently lifting each iron bar and each concrete block to serve the brothers who are constructing the overpass pillars. Welders anchor themselves on the bridge pillars to complete the final details of the formwork for the concrete batch tomorrow. Mr. Tran Ba Hoa - Head of the bridge construction team with 16 years of experience, said: On the 6th day of Tet, all 21 members of the team were present. On the 8th day of Tet, they started working, right from the first days of the year, the whole team worked overtime to keep up with the schedule, striving to hand over the project by December 31, 2013. The railway overpass is 279m long with 300m approach roads on each side. Currently, the lower part of the bridge has been completed. Of the total 11 spans, 2 spans have been placed. 130/220 concrete beams have been cast. During the year, thanks to stable work, at the end of the year each person received an average bonus of 5-6 million VND, so everyone was very excited and immediately started working after Tet to ensure the progress set by the company.
Construction of a railway overpass in Dien Chau area under the National Highway 1A upgrade and expansion project.
Deputy Director of the Company Tran Duc Khoa took us to visit the construction site. Thuan An is a company specializing in bridge construction. Currently, the company is constructing 6 projects in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. In the second package, the joint venture between Thuan An and Truong Son Construction Company is undertaking the construction of 3 bridges, the bridge on the route is Cam bridge, the railway overpass and the bridge over Nha Le canal, with a total value of more than 212 billion VND. Thuan An alone is undertaking the railway overpass and Nha Le canal bridge, with a value of 173 billion VND. Currently, more than 50% of the work of the package has been completed. In the difficult financial conditions, the policy of the company with capital is to focus on completing each item. In the fourth quarter of 2012, the construction volume reached 20 billion VND each month. To achieve that progress, the company has mobilized all its motorbikes here; the labor force at peak times is up to hundreds of people. To speed up the progress of girder casting, instead of 2 drilling units, the company concentrated 4 units here. In addition, highly skilled technical staff were also assigned to the construction site to direct, because the bridge is located on a curve, so the construction is complicated. On the other hand, the bridge has 2 piers crossing the railway, the construction must ensure both train safety and ensure the right progress, these are the difficulties that the unit must overcome.
Leaving the railway overpass construction site, Tran Dinh Dung took us to visit the construction package No. 1 implemented by the joint venture Phu Nguyen Hai Company Limited and Trung Duc Company. With a total length of 11.1 km (from km 425+900 to Km437+00), at the beginning of the route, 1.6 km has been completed, the contractor is completing the hard median to hand over for use. In addition to the 1.6 km completed, package 1 has 3 km of completed roadbed waiting for the surface. The entire construction site is bustling with the atmosphere of the first days of the new year.
According to engineer Tran Dinh Dung, the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A, Dien Chau - Quan Hanh section, was approved in 2010. The Ministry of Transport assigned the Nghe An Department of Transport as the investor, starting construction in September 2011; divided into 4 packages with a total investment of more than 1,217 billion VND, 3/4 packages have started construction. Currently, 240 billion VND has been arranged. Due to the difficult conditions of capital sources, in addition to taking advantage of capital from the Government, the investor has been flexible with the contractor to organize construction immediately when capital is available. Construction is inspected and handed over for use to disburse, shortening the warranty period for the contractor. With this approach, the contractor has been encouraged to feel secure in production. With the efforts of the contractor combined with the flexibility in the direction of the Transport sector, the project's route opening target of December 31, 2013 is gradually becoming a reality.
