The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A through Nghe An province is divided into 5 bidding packages and assigned to 4 investors: Project Management Board 4, Project Management Board 1, Project Management Board 85, and the Project Management Board of the Nghe An Department of Transport. According to the approval decision of the Ministry of Transport, the project started in 2010 and was scheduled for completion in June 2012. However, due to land acquisition issues on the old route through residential areas, the project is behind schedule. Currently, contractors are accelerating progress on newly opened sections.
