Mr. Tran Van Dieu (born in 1924), a pre-uprising cadre, recalled that on the afternoon of September 12, 1930, his father, Mr. Tran Khieu (a veteran cadre, former member of the Executive Committee of the Red Peasant Association of Nghia Liet Commune), had just run home, panting, saying that his uncle had been killed by enemy bombs, and that two other people in the village had heroically sacrificed their lives. But the massacre of the demonstration group on September 12, along with a series of extremely barbaric "white terror" attacks that followed, not only did not dampen the morale of the people of Hung Nguyen and other regions, but also opened a period when the people following the Party stepped onto the political stage to become a large revolutionary force, fighting to regain the rights of the class and the nation. Mr. Dieu excitedly said: "I am so proud! Journalists, go and see, this land is truly changing every day, very worthy of its pioneering tradition."

Indeed, these days, walking on the historic 12/9 road, everywhere you can see the urgent and bustling atmosphere. From the smooth concrete road leading to hamlet 6, Hung Tan commune at noon, when the August sun is at the "grapefruit-brown" level, people are hurriedly raking new straw, wiping their sweat with their hands. Hamlet Chief Hoang Hai Au excitedly said: "My family has harvested 2 sao already, I will try to finish harvesting the other sao today. In recent years, thanks to the spirit of building new rural areas, every family has competed in labor production, competing to get rich on their homeland's land". Hamlet Chief Au took me to visit the house of Mr. Ngo Van Nam, famous for getting rich on his homeland's land, raising 5 children to study and pass exams. With 8 acres of bad rice fields that can only grow one crop a year with a meager income, in 2002, Mr. Nam boldly dug a pond and built a dike to raise fish, using the pond bank to grow seasonal vegetables, bringing in an annual income of 20 million VND, and built a barn to raise 20 sows and pigs for meat, bringing in an annual income of 50 million VND. In hamlet 6, Mr. Nam is not only a good producer and businessman, but also has more than 6 farm and family farm models with an annual income of around 200 million VND. Not only doing farm economy, hamlet 6, Hung Tan is also famous for having many construction contractors that attract many workers in the commune, with an income of 6 - 8 million VND/month. Along with that is knowing how to take advantage of opportunities to invest in overseas labor, currently in the hamlet there are more than 10 workers working abroad, sending billions of VND back to their families each year.

As one of the communes of Hung Nguyen district with a revolutionary tradition, culture and rich history, Hung Tan has many temples, communal houses and pagodas such as: Phan Thon temple; Dung temple, Dong village temple, Nam village temple, Hoang Can pagoda, Phan village pagoda and Nguyen Trong family church. This land has welcomed, sheltered and nurtured provincial and district cadres who evacuated and worked. Promoting that tradition, all 9 hamlets of Hung Tan commune are responding to the boiling atmosphere of the revolutionary autumn days on the heroic Soviet land. According to Party Secretary Hoang Van Lai: Hung Tan is a leading locality in developing the labor export market, effectively implementing models of farms, family farms, aquaculture and seafood farming for high income. Carpentry and construction groups are also operating effectively, bringing a stable life to the people. Up to now, Hung Tan has 400 - 500 workers abroad, 20 farms and ranches with an income of 50 - 200 million VND per year.

In Hung Xa commune, where there are places such as the Vo Chi Tu Lang family temple, where the meeting took place to establish the Tan Viet Revolutionary Party cell and where the Hung Nguyen Party Committee gathered and printed documents, there is Tam Quan gate, where traces of the demonstration on September 12, 1930 were recorded, it was here that Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phia, a veteran revolutionary cadre, read a speech before going to Hung Nguyen palace to demonstrate. Hung Xa is now a leading locality in the movement to develop farm and family farms, and craft villages for making vermicelli, cakes, etc. Hung Xa farmers have completely mechanized agriculture in every stage of cultivation and transportation. Joy continuously came to the people of the commune when in the first 6 months of 2014, the commune conducted acceptance and put into use the irrigation canal from culvert 42 to hamlet 3, the drainage canal in hamlet 5, built infrastructure drainage canals in the residential land planning area in hamlets 2 and 3... Hung Xa is also a locality that attracts resources from children working far away to complete infrastructure works on lighting lines, build a Cultural Institution Center, and rural traffic works.

Talking about the changes in the land where the first groups of farmers' movement participated in the demonstration on September 12, 1930 were formed, it is impossible not to mention Hung Tien commune - a land with a tradition of studying and passing exams, which is also rushing to complete the remaining two criteria to be recognized as a new rural area in October 2014. To achieve this result, in addition to the efforts of all levels of government in applying "opening the inside to attract the outside", Hung Tien also focuses on promoting propaganda so that people clearly understand the goals of the new rural area. In recent years, Hung Tien has mobilized more than 1.5 billion VND from people's contributions, thousands of working days to build 10 km of inter-hamlet roads and is now rushing to complete the construction of the Sports Center and the Commune Cultural House with funds mobilized from the people and support from children working far away.

Up to now, Hung Nguyen has 8 communes that have met 10-15 criteria for new rural areas. In addition to Hung Tan, by the end of this year, Hung Nguyen will have another commune, Hung Tien, reaching the finish line. In 2015, it is expected that Hung Xa, Hung Tay, Hung Thang, and Hung Thong will complete the new rural criteria. Currently, Hung Nguyen has achieved a growth rate of 7.12%, with an estimated average income per capita of over 20 million VND/year.

This year is also the year Hung Nguyen reaps a golden harvest in the fields of culture and society. Mr. Hoang Van Thu - Head of the District Education and Training Department said that recently, the district has honored 4 students who achieved national excellent students, 199 students who achieved the title of provincial excellent students (24 first prizes, 28 second prizes, 46 third prizes), 615 district excellent students. Up to now, Hung Nguyen has 1 high school, 4 middle schools, 19 primary schools that meet national standards. The rate of students passing university and college entrance exams and having stable jobs is high. From the tradition of their homeland, Hung Nguyen children continue to contribute to the country and their homeland in many fields, from leadership and management to scientific research, military activities, culture and arts, journalism, commercial service activities...

In particular, the system of relics and heritages associated with the Nghe - Tinh Soviet Movement 1930 - 1931 is the foundation and strength for Hung Nguyen to become a link in the value chain connecting with the Cua Lo - Vinh - Hung Nguyen - Nam Dan region to become the axis of tourism and service development.
