Paying tribute to families of policy beneficiaries on War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2014), promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", localities and units in Nghe An province have organized many practical activities to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

*On this occasion, the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Chau districtorganized 6 delegations to visit, encourage and present gifts to families of war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. District leaders visited and presented gifts to the district's Martyrs' Relatives Nursing Home and 22 typical beneficiaries and relatives of people with meritorious services with a total value of over 65 million VND. Along with that, district leaders visited, encouraged and presented gifts to relatives of officers and soldiers of fisheries control, coast guard and navy working at units such as DK1 Platform - Brigade 171, soldiers of Brigade 147, Coast Guard Region 3 of the Navy and comrades on duty on Truong Sa Island... with difficult circumstances with a total value of 42 million VND.

At the policy families, the leaders of Dien Chau district kindly sent their regards to the families, visited and encouraged the families of the Coast Guard and fisheries inspectors to overcome difficulties to be a solid support for them to perform their duties on remote islands.

Along with the above activities, the Party Committee and the government have directed the organization of activities such as environmental sanitation, repair, embellishment, creating a clean and beautiful landscape at the Martyrs' Temple and Martyrs' Cemetery, and organizing a "Candlelighting Ceremony" at the Martyrs' Temple and Martyrs' Cemetery of the district on the evening of July 25, 2014.

On the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, the ward also allocated nearly 30 million VND from the budget to organize meetings and give gifts to meritorious people, supporting 20 million VND for a policy beneficiary to repair a house, and 80 million VND for 2 policy beneficiaries to build new houses.
