NASNet can recognize objects like people and vehicles in photos and videos with up to 82.7% accuracy, better than any human-made AI system.
AutoML itself is an AI systemcapable of producing many self-learning programs“We hope the larger machine learning community can build on these versions to tackle many computational problems we haven’t yet envisioned,” said the Google Brain engineering team that developed the parent system AutoML.
However, experts are concerned about the ability of these supercomputers to produce increasingly powerful "children". "What if AutoML creates systems so fast that society cannot keep up? It is not difficult to see the possibility of NASNet being applied in automated surveillance systems in the near future, before regulations to control them come into effect," technology site Futurism emphasized.
However, Ray Kurzweil, Google's director of engineering, believes that AI will improve the world. "Technology has always been a double-edged sword. Fire helps us cook and keep warm, but it also burns down our houses. My view is not that AI will replace humans. It will make us stronger," Kurzweil said.
