Conference scene
In the 2012-2013 dry season, the Military Region 4 Command assigned Nghe An province to coordinate with the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane to search for and collect 82 martyrs' remains. Compared to the 2011-2012 dry season, the target assigned by the Military Region to Nghe An province in this dry season is much higher, while the remains of martyrs remaining in Laos are mainly located in remote, isolated, and rugged areas; the burial locations of martyrs are very limited due to the long time and changing terrain. Some areas have potential political and security instability, requiring great efforts and coordination between the three provinces to ensure the completion of the collection of martyrs' remains in Laos back to their homeland and country. The plan is to organize the handover, farewell, reception and burial of the collected martyrs' remains in April 2013.
Leaders of the three provinces signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate the collection of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos.
At the conference, the leaders of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane provinces affirmed that the Lao Party, State and people of all ethnic groups will forever remember the sacrifices of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos; and promised to create all conditions and forces to ensure that the Nghe An delegation's search and collection of martyrs' remains completes its mission and is safe. The conference approved and signed an agreement to coordinate the collection of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in the 2012-2013 dry season.
