Implementing the Project to solve employment for workers in the period 2015 - 2020

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 24, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to deploy the Project "Employment for workers in Nghe An province in the period 2015 - 2020".

Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and People's Committees of districts and cities. Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Nguyen Bang Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs chaired the conference.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to do a good job of orientation, vocational training, and streaming to meet the demand for labor recruitment.

The Project on Employment for Workers in Nghe An Province for the period 2015 - 2020 aims to: From now to 2020, the whole province will create jobs for about 223,350 workers. Thereby, maximizing the potential, advantages and promoting the strengths of local labor resources in the province for socio-economic development; overcoming the waste of labor resources, creating income, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving living standards, reducing the unemployment rate and strengthening security and social order in the province. At the same time, contributing to shifting the labor structure of the province, reducing the proportion of labor in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors from 62.8% at present to 49% in 2020; increasing labor in industry and construction from 13.6% to 23%, and in services and trade from 23.6% to 28%. Increase the rate of trained workers in the province to 61% by 2020. The total estimated cost of the project is more than 590 billion VND.

In the period of 2011 - 2014, although the whole province has created jobs for nearly 142,000 people, the employment rate has not yet met the requirements, currently there are still 22,940 unemployed people and tens of thousands of underemployed workers. Of which, there are 12,587 workers who have graduated from universities and colleges, about 1,400 trained workers and more than 9,000 unskilled workers. In addition, the labor level is low, not meeting the requirements of the labor market. The sense of responsibility, industrial working style, ability to adapt to the environment as well as working conditions with modern technology of workers are still limited. Currently, the rate of trained workers is only 52% compared to the total labor force of the province.

Comrade Nguyen Bang Toan - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs assessed: Although the whole province creates jobs for more than 35,000 people each year, it still does not meet the needs of workers. Unemployment is still high, and there are still many untrained workers.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai said: Job creation is a strategic task of the province in the coming period. To do it well, we must first overcome existing problems such as low quality of labor resources, training not linked to practice, not meeting recruitment needs, and many limitations in job classification. We must strengthen propaganda work, enhance the role and responsibility of all levels and sectors, and create changes in workers' awareness.

Do a good job of investigating and surveying the vocational training needs of workers and the career orientation stream for students after graduating from junior high school and high school; Promote vocational training, improve the quality of labor resources, especially highly skilled workers; Strengthen the connection between vocational training institutions and enterprises to arrange jobs for workers after training; Must strongly improve the business investment environment to attract more businesses to the locality, promote labor export, mobilize and attract preferential credit policies for businesses, production and business establishments, and workers to borrow to solve employment...
