Deploying border guard tasks in the last months of the year
(Baonghean.vn) -On July 30, the Nghe An Border Guard Command held a conference to review the border work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy border work tasks for the last 6 months of the year. Attending the conference were comrades in the Party Committee - Command, leaders of departments, offices, agencies and officers in charge of affiliated units.
Overview of the Conference.
In the first 6 months of 2013, units on the border and coastal areas have synchronously and comprehensively deployed all aspects of work and achieved the following outstanding results: focusing on firmly grasping the internal and external situation, advising the Provincial People's Committee, the Border Guard Command and localities to promptly handle situations occurring on the border and coastal areas; closely coordinating with forces and localities to patrol, control, manage, firmly protect the sovereignty and security of the border and sea areas and completing the renovation and increasing the density of Vietnam - Laos border markers.
Effectively implemented the fight against drug crimes, especially drug crimes and trafficking of women abroad. Arrested, investigated and handled 89 cases/134 subjects/23 vehicles; including 19 cases/23 subjects buying and selling drugs, confiscating more than 6 kg of heroin, 1 grenade, 1 car, 7 motorbikes, 5 mobile phones, 24,850 Lao kip, 6,200,000 VND; 2 cases/3 subjects buying and selling people abroad, rescuing 6 victims who were ethnic minority women in border areas; administratively sanctioned 44 cases/63 subjects with a fine of 91,350,000 VND.
Combat readiness work was maintained and carried out seriously; units participating in the regional defense drills in Nghi Loc and Ky Son districts, border post drills and military sports festival in 2013 achieved good results and were absolutely safe. In addition, Party building and unit building work had many positive changes.
The conference also set out a number of key tasks for the remainder of 2013, focusing on strengthening situational awareness, especially in key areas; effectively combating enemy activities and all types of objects; proactively carrying out flood and storm prevention, search and rescue work.
Promote the implementation of Directive No. 12/CT-UBND dated April 16, 2013 of the Provincial People's Committee on the twinning of villages on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border; continue to help 3 poor communes to ensure progress and effectiveness; effectively implement Resolution 4 of the 11th Central Committee on "Some urgent issues on Party building at present", in conjunction with promoting the implementation of "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" and the Campaign "Promoting tradition, maintaining discipline, living with compassion, upholding responsibility" to excellently complete the tasks of border protection.
