Deploying press arrangement according to planning orientation

On the afternoon of October 12, 2015, at the Ministry's headquarters, the Ministry of Information and Communications worked with the People's Committee of Can Tho City on the Project on Planning for the development and management of the national press until 2025 (Press Planning).

Comrade Truong Minh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications chaired the meeting. Also attending were representatives of functional units under the Ministry. On behalf of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, there were comrade Le Van Tam, member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City; leaders of the Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho City.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications listened to a report on the plan to arrange newspapers in Can Tho City according to the planning orientation; on the roadmap for digital television and recommendations and proposals of Can Tho City to the Ministry of Information and Communications. Also at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, Le Van Tam, requested the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the units under the Ministry to pay more attention and create more favorable conditions for Can Tho to help Can Tho develop quickly, sustainably, and be worthy of its role as the center of the Mekong Delta region.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and initiative of the People's Committee of Can Tho City and related departments and branches in receiving and implementing the arrangement of newspapers in the area according to the direction of the press planning and must comply with the planning. Regarding the issue of television digitization, Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan requested Can Tho City to direct related departments and branches to implement in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister, and to properly implement the roadmap of the Television Digitization Project issued by the Government. At the same time, Can Tho City needs to closely coordinate with related units under the Ministry to review the poor and near-poor in the area so that the Ministry of Information and Communications can support according to regulations so that all people can watch television and avoid interruptions.

In particular, Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan highly appreciated the Can Tho City Party Committee for issuing a resolution on IT development in the area to promote the rapid and sustainable development of the information and communication industry in the new period.
