"Activities of President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese revolutionaries in Longzhou, Guangxi, China" is the theme of the exhibition taking place at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi).
The exhibition displays nearly 200 photos, documents and artifacts, many of which are being introduced in Vietnam for the first time, providing an overview of the activities of President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese revolutionaries in Longzhou district, Guangxi province, China.
In 1930, after the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Long Chau became an important overseas base for the Party. This was where Vietnamese revolutionaries such as Le Hong Phong, Hoang Van Thu, Phung Chi Kien, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Chinh, etc. operated for a long time.
Mr. Chu Duc Tinh, Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum said: One of the profound marks that President Ho Chi Minh left on Long Chau land and is cherished and preserved by the people here is the house at 76 Nam Street. This is the revolutionary base where President Ho Chi Minh and the revolutionary soldiers lived and worked under the protection, shelter and care of the Long Chau people.
Nearly 10 years ago, responding to the wishes of the local people to preserve the memory of Uncle Ho, the Long Chau government restored this house to the exact time when Uncle Ho lived and worked in the 40s of the last century. The remaining area was used to build the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Long Chau - considered a very special mark in the Vietnam - China friendship.
The exhibition is open from now until November 10 and will then be introduced and displayed in Nghe An and Cao Bang provinces./
