A large number of visitors visited the exhibition. |
The exhibition was organized by Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, a Vietnamese living in Berlin who had a field trip to Truong Sa in May, within the framework of the program "40 years of immigration and development" to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, organized by the Union of Vietnamese in Germany.
This is also the second photo exhibition of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa organized by Mr. Cuong in Germany after the first one at the end of July 2015 in Berlin.
Taking place at a time when major activities celebrating the establishment of diplomatic relations were being carried out simultaneously in both Germany and Vietnam, the exhibition attracted the attention of many Vietnamese people in Germany as well as many German and international friends who came to attend the Program and visit the exhibition.
The exhibition is solemnly arranged in the campus of the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum cultural center with many highlights, from a large-sized map of Vietnam printed with full images of the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos and a backdrop with images of naval soldiers guarding day and night to protect the sacred islands of the Fatherland to dozens of large-sized photos printed with maps and historical documents affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over these two archipelagos.
The photos, carefully selected by Mr. Van Cuong from images recorded in Truong Sa as well as through sources collected in Vietnam, have been arranged into themed areas such as maps, documents, ancient books affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos, images of daily life of people and soldiers on the islands, China's illegal construction of artificial islands in the East Sea and activities and movements of overseas Vietnamese in Germany towards their homeland's islands.
The exhibition also features photo books, maps, and tapes affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos.
Viewers also witnessed images recording the difficult daily life of island soldiers and combat readiness training sessions of naval troops in Truong Sa.
Professor Dr. Juergen Kretschmann, Rector of Bochum University of Technology, said he was very impressed by the scale and sophistication of the photo exhibition of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa in Bochum city.
Regarding disputes in the East Sea, he said that the parties involved need to handle disputes peacefully, respect international law and not threaten to use force.
The exhibition on Truong Sa and Hoang Sa in Bochum city once again contributed to introducing to overseas Vietnamese in Germany authentic images of the life and fighting of soldiers who are guarding the island borders of the Fatherland day and night.
This exhibition also helps overseas Vietnamese, as well as German and international friends, have access to many valuable documents and maps affirming Vietnam's indisputable sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa.
