This morning (August 1), in Ho Chi Minh City, a photo exhibition opened to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Agent Orange/dioxin disaster in Vietnam, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.
The exhibition takes place from now until August 12 at the War Remnants Museum and the City Labor Culture Palace, displaying 102 photos with two themes: "Agent Orange/dioxin - The pain of everyone" and "Overcoming difficulties and rising up with victims of Agent Orange/dioxin".
The exhibition reflects the long-term effects and consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin on the living environment and people of Vietnam through many generations, and at the same time demonstrates the strong will to rise up of the victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, with shining examples in studying and working that have created miracles in life and in the journey of fighting for justice. This is also an opportunity to mobilize signatures to support the Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in the upcoming lawsuit against American chemical companies.
It is known that from the beginning of 2011 until now, the HCM City Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin has mobilized more than 2.6 billion VND and spent nearly 2 billion VND to provide material and spiritual support to victims of Agent Orange.
In addition, the “Soldier’s Heart” Fund of American Veterans and Vietnamese expatriates in France donated 10,000 USD and 2,200 Euros for orthopedic surgery for 21 victims. Recently, the Korean Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims also helped successfully perform surgery for 13 cases./.
