Gratitude painting exhibition at Truong Son Cemetery
On the morning of April 7, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Fine Arts and Photography, in coordination with the Management Board of Truong Son National Cemetery, organized a painting exhibition to express the gratitude of artists and painters to the heroic martyrs who died for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The exhibition displays nearly 100 paintings by 50 artists from provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa... and gathers many famous artists such as: Tran Nhat Thang; Quach Dong Phuong; Pham Tran Quan; Nguyen Dinh Toan...
The exhibition includes main genres such as: photography and painting, sculpture, installation art. Originating from the idea of love for the homeland, especially Quang Tri province, the land that suffered fierce devastation during the war.
The main theme of the exhibition shows love for the homeland; the desire to live and fight, portraits of soldiers during the war; images recreating the fierce battle to protect the homeland; family and friends' affection... This is the first time at Truong Son National Cemetery there is a large-scale nationwide painting exhibition.
The paintings are displayed by the Organizing Committee right at the graves, monuments and main campus of the central area of the cemetery. Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of 10,263 martyrs from all over the country.
After the exhibition ends, most of the paintings will be burned as offerings to the souls of the heroic martyrs, while others will be given back to the Truong Son National Cemetery Management Board and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province to organize an exhibition to celebrate the April 30th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam.
This exhibition is an opportunity to honor the heroic martyrs who are resting at Truong Son National Cemetery who died for the cause of fighting and protecting national independence. At the same time, it is an opportunity to express gratitude and respect from painters, artists in particular and today's young generation to the souls of heroic martyrs.
Previously, on the evening of April 6, the Hanoi Artists Association also offered sacrifices and organized singing for comrades at the graves to express their hearts to the heroic martyrs./.
