(Baonghean) -On February 19, 2013, in Western Nghe An, May Forestry Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a wood and MDF fiberboard processing factory (in Nghia Dan district) with a total investment of 500 million USD, and this is the most modern factory in Southeast Asia.

Currently, most of the wood processing factories in our province use asynchronous technology and production lines originating from China and Taiwan, which consumes raw materials and pollutes the environment... Therefore, May Forestry Joint Stock Company has decided to use the world's leading synchronous and advanced production lines and technology to produce MDP fiberboard and wood bars.

Mr. Christoph Ludaescher, Director of May Forestry Joint Stock Company, the project investor, said: “My team of international experts and I have strong confidence in the success of the project not only because of modern production technology, but also thanks to the timely attention and support of all levels, sectors and people in the project area and especially the investment attraction policy of the province. My colleagues and I are very happy to decide to choose the MDF wood and fiberboard processing factory to work with”. With the motto of using the world's advanced technology combined with available materials in Vietnam, the investor has chosen the MDF fiberboard production equipment supplier, Diffenbacher Company of the Federal Republic of Germany, currently the world's number one company in wood processing equipment. The design unit is NewCC Japan and the project management unit is Royal Haskoning Netherlands.

The wood and MDF fiberboard processing factory with a total investment of 500 million USD includes: The wood processing factory with a total investment of 150 million USD with a capacity of 8,800 m3/year, expected to be operational within 6 months from the commencement date; The MDF fiberboard processing factory with a total investment of 350 million USD, a capacity of 400,000 m3/year, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1: 130,000 m3/year (investment level of 100 million USD) is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2014; Phase 2: 270,000 m3/year in 2017. The highlight of Nghe An Wood Processing Factory is the combination of 2 technologies for processing wood bars and MDF fiberboard. The slat mill uses the most valuable parts of the tree as raw material and the MDF mill uses the by-products left over from the slat milling process to create high-quality fiberboard panels. This method allows the use of almost all parts of the tree, thereby optimizing the raw material resource.

Using advanced technology and modern synchronous equipment lines with 100% European origin, such as Dieffenbacher Company (Germany) providing technology for forming, continuous compression and board status, Metso (Sweden) for wood fiber production technology, Hombak/CMC (Germany) for chip chipping, cleaning and chip chipping storage technology... so the factory's wood products will have good quality, can compete in demanding markets such as the US, Japan and EU. In addition to the outstanding quality of the products, the difference of Nghe An Wood Processing Factory is the ability to save energy and the level of green, clean and environmentally friendly. In addition, dust generated during the production process will be collected, packed into cakes to be put into the furnace to create additional energy, while contributing to cleaning the environment. Heat generated during the factory's operation is also collected for reuse. Raw materials used for the construction of the factory will also be mainly sourced from local sources, such as construction stones from Nghe An and Thanh Hoa.

In addition to applying high technology to wood processing, the factory focuses on developing raw material areas because this is a decisive condition for the project's success. Therefore, May Forestry Joint Stock Company builds the project in the direction of proactively sourcing raw materials through sustainable forest development. The project has joint ventures with farms and forestry farms in the planning area to ensure 60% of raw materials for the project. The remaining 40% of raw materials will be purchased from the people.

With modern equipment, technology and management processes, the factory will be a model for sustainable forest economic development combined with environmental protection and improvement, as well as bringing many socio-economic benefits, contributing to the transformation of crop structure, improving the ecological environment, creating jobs for thousands of workers, and increasing income for people in the Western Nghe An region.
