Dismantling a transnational drug ring, seizing 60 heroin cakes
(Baonghean.vn) -On February 17, after a period of persistent struggle, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Police presided over and coordinated with functional professional units to destroy a huge drug trafficking ring from abroad into Nghe An for consumption in the northern provinces and the Vietnam-China border, arresting 2 subjects and seizing 60 heroin cakes.
On the eve of Lunar New Year 2014, through professional work, the drug crime investigation police force of Nghe An Police discovered a drug trafficking ring from abroad through Ha Tinh to Nghe An and then to the northern provinces for consumption led by Ho Su Co (born in 1983), residing in block 13, Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city. Many plans to arrest the subject were carried out but were unsuccessful because Ho Su Co proved to be a cunning subject, with a lot of experience and tricks to deal with the investigation agency.

Determined not to let the subjects escape the law and stop a large amount of smuggled drugs into Nghe An, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Police established Project 366C, coordinating with related professional units to fight and eradicate. After many days of persistently tracking all movements of the subjects, at 2:00 a.m. on February 17, at the Yen Ly intersection - Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An), the police force urgently arrested Phan Thanh Ton (born in 1989), residing in Son Giang, Huong Son, Ha Tinh - an important link in this chain. Previously, at 4:00 p.m. on February 15, at Ben Thuy Toll Station (Vinh City), the police force broke the case, caught Ho Su Co red-handed in the act of illegally transporting drugs, seized 60 heroin cakes weighing nearly 21 kg, a Huyndai car with license plate 30A - 061.86 as the means of transport and 2 mobile phones.
At the police station, the two subjects confessed that they and their accomplices went to Laos to buy drugs and then transported them through Cha Lo Border Gate (Quang Binh) to Nghe An, then to the northern border for sale. The police are currently continuing to investigate and expand the case.
