The police have just dismantled a ring transporting, trading, and storing illegal firecrackers between provinces, the largest in the country since the beginning of the year.

The Staff Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and order the temporary detention of 13 accused to investigate the crimes.Trading, storing, transporting prohibited goods.

Through the work of grasping the situation and launching a mass movement to protect national security, Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered that Tang Quoc Tien (born in 1978) colluded with Dang Duy Linh (born in 1992), Danh Tich (born in 1990) - both residing in Kien Giang province - to transport and trade in prohibited goods.firecrackerin large quantities from Kien Giang to Ho Chi Minh City for consumption.

In addition, this firecracker trafficking ring also transits to many other provinces and cities across the country under the guise of a transportation business unit.

Fireworks will be “camouflaged” in Styrofoam boxes containing dried fish, with the recipient’s information written on them. The above defendants directed the driver and assistant to transport them to Ho Chi Minh City to gather at a coffee shop owned by Nguyen Dang Thanh (born in 1990, residing in Binh Hung Hoa B Ward, Binh Tan District).

These boxes of fireworks, once successfully smuggled, will be hidden by Thanh and directly delivered to others in need through online delivery services.

Using the above methods, from around August 2023 until the time of arrest, the gang led by Tang Quoc Tien transported and sold nearly 6 tons of firecrackers to the markets of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and the provinces of Ca Mau, Long An, and Vinh Phuc.

On August 29, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Police deployed a plan to solve the case; arrested Nguyen Dang Thanh while transporting 5 boxes of explosive firecrackers.

The Working Group of Ho Chi Minh City Police in Kien Giang province chaired and coordinated with Kien Giang Provincial Police and the Drug Prevention Department (Border Guard Command) to arrest Tang Quoc Tien, Dang Duy Linh, Danh Tich and 4 people who were drivers and assistants.

Expanding the investigation of the case, Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to coordinate with Ca Mau Province Police, Long An Province Police, Vinh Phuc Province Police and Hanoi Police to arrest 6 people involved in the delivery and sale of firecrackers from this gang.

Within 10 days, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Kien Giang, Long An and Ca Mau Police to search 11 locations.

The forces investigated and seized most of the fireworks (a total of nearly 6 tons) that this gang had smuggled into the market.
