(Baonghean) - Traveling about 7 km from National Highway 7A, we arrived at Mrs. Tran Thi Truc's farm in Hamlet 5, Long Son Commune (Anh Son). Local people often call her and her husband "Farm Millionaire". She also had the honor of being a delegate of the Patriotic Emulation Congress for the period 2010 - 2015.

Mrs. Tran Thi Truc (born in 1956) and her husband have 4 children, Mr. Tran Van Le - her husband is an officer of the Commune People's Committee Office, and she stays at home to produce agriculture. The family has many children, so life is difficult and arduous, at one time earning enough food every day was a big problem. Every time Mr. Le brought books and newspapers home, Mrs. Truc focused on reading articles introducing business models and experiences in economic development. From there, she realized that her mountainous hometown is suitable for developing farm economy, both growing raw materials and developing livestock. Discussing with Mr. Le, the couple stayed up many nights to plan their business, and finally they decided to invest in a farm.

In 2003, Mrs. Truc borrowed money from the bank to buy 30 hectares of forestry land to carry out her business plan. The forest was 7km from her house, the road leading to it was just a small path, mostly made up of giang and bamboo trees. This meant that she and her husband had to start by hiring a bulldozer to build a road of more than 3km, build a dam to retain water and clear the poor forest to plant suitable trees. At first, Mrs. Truc invested in growing cassava but suffered heavy losses because the price of cassava was too low. Growing gac trees also failed because the gac did not produce fruit. There were times when she was discouraged and wanted to give up, but then Mrs. Truc thought that diligence and hard work would not let her down. She continued to borrow 100 million VND, which at that time was a very large sum of money, not many people dared to borrow. This time, Mrs. Truc and her husband decided to grow acacia, buy cows and pigs to graze, and renovate the pond to raise fish, fencing the entire area with barbed wire. He did social work, she stayed home to take care of the farm, during peak periods she hired more workers to plant trees and weed in time for the season. Persistently sticking with it, while learning experiences and techniques from books and newspapers, Mrs. Truc gradually built the family farm more and more impressive. By 2011, the first crop of acacia trees was harvested, helping the couple pay off all their debts and providing an increasingly stable income, each year the family earned tens, then hundreds of millions of dong.

At present, the entire farm area of Mrs. Tran Thi Truc is almost covered with 25 hectares of acacia, 3 large fish ponds, 40 cows, 40 pigs and about 200 chickens, ducks and geese. These animals are raised in a free-range manner, so they are favored by traders, and they sell out as much as they can. This helps her family bring in a large source of income, after deducting expenses, she "pockets" about 250 million VND each year. And this amount will increase every year, because the more she works, the more experience and techniques she accumulates in farming and care, so productivity will certainly increase. During the production season, Mrs. Truc hires dozens of workers with a salary of approximately 200,000 VND/day. Currently, there is still a small area of land left, she plans to grow tangerines, because this type of tree has not developed much in the locality and the price is high.

The joy of Mrs. Truc and her husband is that their youngest son, Tran Van Duong (born in 1985), has just left the army and decided to return to his hometown to take over his parents' farm. Mrs. Truc plans to develop more goat herds, because the farm's terrain is favorable for grazing, and it is a popular commodity. When Duong gets used to the job, Mr. Le and Mrs. Truc will hand over the farm to him, they will only take care of guiding and passing on their experience to their son.
