Back to naming streets in Vinh City
(Baonghean)-Regarding the roads in the province in general and in Vinh City in particular, in my opinion, there are some points that the council and the agency responsible for naming roads should pay attention to the following:
-Inconsistent naming: The names of kings are those who have made great contributions to the nation, and should be given in a unified way. There should not be a situation where some people follow the imperial title, while others follow the given name, like the three consecutive sections of National Highway 1: a section named Quang Trung, Mai Hac De, and a section named Le Loi. Why not name them after the temple name of Le Thai To, for example. In my opinion, kings who have streets named after them should be given solemn names according to what history books called them after they ascended the throne.
-Duplicate naming: A patriot in the early 20th century, Dang Thai Than, nicknamed Ngu Hai, both his name and nickname were given to two consecutive streets, the two streets that stretch from the beginning of Cua Nam fish lake to Le Mao street, parallel to Phan Dinh Phung street and Tran Phu street?
-Name without notes:Under the street name boards in cities like Hanoi and many other cities, there is a summary of the biography and achievements of the person named, so that people can understand the person whose street name is given. Only then will it have an educational effect on the people and the naming of the street be meaningful. As for the streets in our province, there are only name boards, many people do not clearly understand the biography and achievements of the famous person named? How many people know that the main street Doc Thiet, named after Admiral Lang Van Thiet, a Thai ethnic in our province, a general in the anti-French insurgent army of Phan Dinh Phung, and many other streets.
Sadly, the road running from the front gate of Vinh station through the gate of the Transport Hospital to Dong Vinh is named after Le Ninh, a patriot who rose up against the French in the Can Vuong movement in the late 19th century, often called "young master Le Ninh", from Duc Tho district - Ha Tinh, but in front of the houses along the road are written Le Ninh (the word Le is heavily marked as Le, which has no meaning at all)?!
Many famous people from our province, who have made great contributions to the people and the country, have not been named. Professor Ta Quang Buu, Professor Nguyen Xien (whose streets in Hanoi are already named after them); Professor-People's Teacher Nguyen Thuc Hao... should have a street named after them.
If Mr. Hoang Hanh, the first Hero of Labor of our country, had a street named after him, then we should also name a street after Professor, Doctor of Science Nguyen Van Truong, from Kim Lien commune, a Hero of Labor in the Renovation period, a teacher of many famous people. We already have streets named after Trạng Nguyên such as Bach Lieu, Ho Tong Thoc, so we should also have streets named after Đình Nguyên (equivalent to Trạng Nguyên in the past, because the Nguyen Dynasty did not name Trạng Nguyên) such as Dang Van Thuy, Vuong Huu Phu... Particularly Đình Nguyên Phan Thuc Truc has had a street named after him in Dong Vinh ward - Vinh.
Please give some suggestions, hope the competent authorities will consider?!
