Stealing safe and taking more than 200 million VND to buy a scooter for his wife

Information said that Buon Ma Thuot City Police have issued an emergency arrest warrant for Duong Van Dung (37 years old, residing in Khanh Xuan ward, Buon Ma Thuot city) to handle the act of property theft.

According to police records, Dung had three previous convictions for rape, robbery and theft, with a total sentence of 11 years and 6 months in prison.

In September 2013, Dung was released from prison and worked for a while to earn a living, but then he "returned to his old ways". At the end of 2015, Dung went to scout households in Buon Ma Thuot City and saw that Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy's family (on Nay Thong Street, Group 9, Ea Tam Ward) was locked up and away. Dung broke the door and stole a safe, brought it home, broke it open, and took more than 200 million VND to spend and buy his wife a Vision motorbike. Dung burned all of Ms. Thuy's family's documents, red books, and certificates.

At the police station, Dung confessed to also stealing wooden statues and peppercorns from people in the city.

Currently, Buon Ma Thuot City Police have confiscated the motorbike that Dung bought for his wife, 2 wooden statues, 5 million VND and some other evidence worth more than 40 million VND to return to the victim; continue to investigate to clarify the theft of Duong Van Dung./.
