Referee Nguyen Trong Thu received the Golden Whistle award 2013

This morning, the VFF Referee Board announced the results of the vote for the 2013 referee and assistant referee titles. Accordingly, the 2013 Golden Whistle title belonged to referee Nguyen Trong Thu (Da Nang).

Specifically, referee Nguyen Trong Thu received 230 points, 30 points more than the second-place referee Vo Minh Tri. The third-place referee and Bronze Whistle winner was referee Phung Dinh Dung with 163 points.

In the vote for assistant referee titles, chess player Pham Manh Long received an overwhelming number of votes with 231 points to win the Golden Flag award. The Silver Flag award went to assistant referee Tran Thanh Liem with 134 points and the Bronze Flag award went to assistant referee Tran Minh Thang with 130 points.

This is the first time referee Nguyen Trong Thu has been honored to receive the award for the best whistle of the season. In his refereeing career, referee Nguyen Trong Thu has received the Bronze Whistle award twice in a row (2011 and 2012).

Meanwhile, in the Golden Flag title, assistant Pham Manh Long became the most outstanding flag bearer in V-League history with 5 times being voted in the highest position, respectively in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2013.

The referee and assistant referee titles will be awarded at the 2013 season summary conference, held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 28.
