US Army helicopter crashes, 11 soldiers missing
The AP news agency reported on the morning of March 11 that seven US Marines and four soldiers were missing after a US Army helicopter crashed during a night exercise at Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle.

Officials at the base said the Marines were part of a special operations team based at Camp Lejeune, while the soldiers were from the National Guard unit in Hammond, Louisiana.
Eglin base spokesman Andy Bourland said the helicopter was reported missing at about 8:30 p.m. on March 10 and search and rescue teams found wreckage from the crash at 2 a.m. on March 11.
