Helicopter crashed into mountain, 7 people injured and dead
Yesterday (August 16), a helicopter carrying skiers crashed near Wanaka, New Zealand, killing one person and injuring six others.

One man died in the crash, while six others were injured and are being treated. Four of the victims were taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries and are in a stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. Two others with minor injuries are being treated at Wanaka Town Medical Centre.
The aircraft is known to be owned by Harris Mountains Heli-Ski. After the incident, other helicopters of this company were mobilized to participate in the rescue work.
The Transport Accident Investigation Board said investigators would examine the scene to determine the cause of the accident today (August 17). Police said the Civil Aviation Authority would also be involved in the investigation.
According to initial information from Radio New Zealand, the plane crashed while trying to land on a mountain road but unfortunately crashed into the mountain.
Police are currently trying to contact relatives of those killed in the plane crash.
