This is the most official and important event in a series of events and activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, organized by the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Dien Bien province.
Attending the event were leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, central departments, ministries, branches, unions, provinces, cities and delegates of Dien Bien province, about 900 delegates.
The event was also attended by 270 international delegates and foreign press reporters, including Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Chansamose Chanyalath; Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun; French Minister of the Army and Secretary of State in charge of Veterans and War Memory...
The specific program includes the following activities:
+ Flag salute ceremony.
+ State the reason and introduce the delegates.
+ Party and State leaders read commemorative speeches.
+ Speech by representative of Dien Bien Phu soldiers.
+ Speech by representative of young generation.
+ Ceremony of awarding the First Class Independence Medal to Dien Bien province.
After the rally at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, there will be a parade with the participation of about 12,000 people, including all forces of the Army, Militia and Police, departments, branches and social organizations.
The parade program began with 21 artillery rounds to the National Anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Then there was a performance of 9 helicopters carrying the Party flag and the national flag flying over the stage.
Next was the performance of the Parade Block (4 Honor Guard Blocks, 24 military blocks, militia, police) and the Parade Block (9 Veteran Blocks, Youth Volunteers, Frontline Workers, Workers, Farmers, Intellectuals, Youth, Women, Northwest Ethnic Groups) and finally the performance of the Art Block.
The parade is an important highlight of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) to demonstrate force and affirm the significance, stature and great historical value of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
