Live match U19 Vietnam - U19 Indonesia

Coach Graechen's team had a great match and won 3-1 with beautiful goals against their fateful opponent, Indonesia.

After the defeat against U21 Malaysia, U19 Vietnam must beat U19 Indonesia to maintain their hopes of reaching the semi-finals. However, this goal is not easy to achieve because the aggressive and fearless playing style of U19 Indonesia caused Guillaume Graechen and his team to fail last year.

Before the match, the French coach admitted that physical strength is still a weakness that U19 Vietnam has not been able to overcome. In addition, mentality and playing attitude are also issues that coach Graechen has a headache trying to find ways to correct for his students.

Just 5 minutes after the opening whistle, U19 Vietnam scored the opening goal. From a free kick outside the box, Luong Xuan Truong's shot hit the head of an Indonesian player and flew into the net of goalkeeper Murdianto.

With the lead, U19 Vietnam proactively slowed down the pace of the match. This was also the time when U19 Indonesia players had attacks that threatened goalkeeper Van Truong's goal.

In the 12th minute, U19 Indonesia organized a quick counter-attack, player number 20 shot in a narrow area, but goalkeeper Van Truong was alert in time and caught the ball.

In the following minutes, the Indonesian team tried hard to increase the pressure on the U19 Vietnam field. However, the white team's defense still played with concentration from the beginning of the match.

In the 29th minute, U19 Vietnam was awarded a free kick near the U19 Indonesia penalty area, with Xuan Truong still standing in front of the ball. Midfielder number 21 made a tricky shot that sent the ball through the wall, but unfortunately could not beat goalkeeper Murdianto.

Playing at a disadvantage against U19 Vietnam, the U19 Indonesia players occasionally created opportunities to cause trouble for the U19 Vietnam defense. In the 35th minute, goalkeeper Van Truong made another excellent save for his team after facing the opponent's number 20.

In the 43rd minute, Cong Phuong tore through the defense of U19 Indonesia and crossed the ball very conveniently for his teammate to finish. Unfortunately, Bui Tien Dung rushed in and missed his header at close range.

However, U19 Vietnam did not have to regret the missed opportunity, because before the first half ended, Cong Phuong himself put his name on the scoreboard. Starting from a beautiful wall pass from the middle of the field with Tuan Tai, striker number 10 escaped the Indonesian defender's pursuit and then chipped the ball to the far corner to raise the score to 3-0 for U19 Vietnam.

With nothing left to lose, the U19 Indonesia players pushed up their attacking formation to find a goal to shorten the score. However, the red shirt team had many difficulties in approaching Van Truong's goal against the slow and steady playing style of U19 Vietnam.

In the 50th minute, U19 Indonesia had a chance to equalize but U19 Vietnam's defenders played aggressively and neutralized the opponent's dangerous situation.

Leading by 3 goals helped the U19 Vietnam players confidently hold the ball and deploy their play, even at times the white shirt team turned the U19 Indonesia players into puppets on the field.

Although they occasionally created opportunities in front of Van Truong's goal, they could not penetrate the defense of U19 Vietnam.

In the 61st minute, Hong Duy almost completed his double, but unfortunately, his shot from an open position was not difficult to defeat the Indonesian goalkeeper.

In the final minutes of the match, the U19 Vietnam defense played loosely, allowing the opposing striker to skillfully maneuver in the penalty area before defeating Van Truong to shorten the score to 1-3.

A few minutes later, Cong Phuong had a beautiful pass for Tuan Tai to run down and score, but the ball went a bit high over the crossbar of the U19 Indonesia goal.

In the final minutes of extra time, goalkeeper Van Truong made a miraculous save against the Indonesian striker's header from a distance of only about 4 meters.

Winning 3-1, U19 Vietnam regained their spirit after the humiliating 0-2 loss to U21 Malaysia two days ago. Not only that, with 3 points, coach Guillaume Graechen and his team have 6 points after 3 matches, thereby opening the door to the semi-finals.

On the other hand, U19 Vietnam has reclaimed the debt that U19 Indonesia owed in the U19 Southeast Asian Championship last year. With this defeat, the team from the archipelago country has almost lost the chance to advance to the next round.
