On October 22, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is visiting Beijing, and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang signed a joint communique on the results of the 18th regular meeting between the two countries' government leaders.

Speaking at a joint press conference after the talks, Premier Li Keqiang said the meeting between him and the Russian Prime Minister was a great success with both sides agreeing to pass a series of agreements to promote bilateral strategic cooperation.

Premier Li Keqiang said that China and Russia are two permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, two major emerging economies, and two major neighbors. Cooperation between the two countries is important to the two countries, Asia, Europe, and the world.

According to Mr. Li Keqiang, in the context of complicated developments in the international environment, cooperation between China and Russia based on regional and international cooperation mechanisms will help restore the global economy, especially supporting emerging economies in the face of potential challenges and risks.

For his part, Russian Prime Minister Medvedev said the two countries agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in high-tech fields, increase mutual investment and explore measures to strengthen cooperative relations.

Stressing that energy is a key area of ​​bilateral cooperation, Prime Minister Medvedev expressed hope that the newly signed cooperation documents will soon be implemented and that the two sides will soon reach consensus on projects under discussion in the coming time. He also said that Russia and China have signed a new agreement, according to which Moscow will supply an additional 10 million tons of crude oil per year to China within the next 10 years. In addition, the Russian Prime Minister also highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in areas such as aviation, energy and nuclear energy.

Earlier in the morning, Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Medvedev witnessed the signing of 21 bilateral cooperation documents and co-chaired the 18th regular meeting between the two governments. This meeting, first held in December 1996, has become an important foundation for shaping the cooperative relationship between China and Russia.
