China stops recruiting Russian pilots

China has stopped recruiting civil aviation pilots from Russia, - according to the announcement on the website of the Sheremetyevskiy Aviation Union.

Earlier, the press wrote that Russian airlines were concerned about the "drain of highly qualified personnel" to Asia: in the past two and a half years, more than 300 aircraft commanders and instructors have moved to Asia, and another 400 pilots are in the process of being recruited. One of the reasons is the difference in salaries paid to pilots in Russian and Asian airlines.

From June 16, the Civil Aviation Administration of China stopped considering job applications from Russian pilots and those with valid flight licenses, citing "actions of the Russian authorities that are incompatible with international cooperation standards and procedures" as desired by employers, — the notice said.

Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov previously stated that he did not see any problems with the phenomenon of pilots working abroad. Meanwhile, the ministry announced that it was discussing with the Air Transport Operators Association to prevent this trend and would soon present a report for public discussion.
