China to Crack Down on Tibetan Separatism
Xinhua News Agency on September 7 quoted Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng calling on military, police and judicial forces in the Tibet Autonomous Region to prepare for a long-term struggle with separatist forces led by the 14th Dalai Lama.

Speaking at a military parade of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the Armed Police Force (APF) and the judiciary in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, on September 7, Yu Zhengsheng asked the above forces to continue to improve their capacity to govern Tibet according to the law, especially their capacity to suppress separatist forces, strengthen their capacity to govern society and protect people's rights.
Mr. Du Zhengsheng also asked these forces to firmly grasp political orientation, protect the stability of border areas and the solidarity of ethnic groups.
