However, Vietnamese fishing boats were skillful, proactive, and safely avoided the obstruction of Chinese ships and continued to stick to fishing grounds and increase production.

Providing specific information about the developments at the scene, a representative of the Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Department said that Chinese Coast Guard, Fisheries Administration, and tugboats continued to take drastic actions to obstruct and ram Vietnamese fisheries surveillance forces, spraying water cannons at them, and preventing Vietnamese fisheries surveillance ships from approaching the rig to protest China's illegal placement of the rig.

According to a representative of the Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Department, China still maintains a force of about 110-115 ships, including 35-40 Coast Guard ships, about 30 transport ships and tugboats, 40-45 fishing boats, and 4 military ships operating in the East-Southeast of the drilling rig.

In addition, according to the Vietnamese fisheries surveillance force, today (June 4), a reconnaissance aircraft was detected operating in the area of the drilling rig.

A representative of the Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Department said that Vietnamese fisheries surveillance ships continue to organize high-intensity struggles, protesting and demanding that China withdraw the Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig from Vietnam's waters, operating 7-9 nautical miles from the rig.
