Early Mid-Autumn Festival: Hundreds of gifts come to Dan Lai children and mountainous children
(Baonghean.vn) - Joining in the jubilant, excited atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival, many mountainous districts organize early full moon festivals for children.

On the evening of September 29, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district coordinated with the Vietnam Children's Fund and Nghe An Children's Fund to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival 2017 program for Dan Lai children with the theme "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival with Dan Lai children".
| Attending and presenting gifts to children were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund, representatives of the Nghe An Children's Fund, leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Con Cuong district and departments and unions, along with many local people. |
In particular, the program has the participation of 200 Dan Lai ethnic children and 400 teenagers and children in the district.
600 teenagers and children, including 200 children of the Dan Lai ethnic group, enjoyed special performances and folk games during the full moon festival.

In particular, on this occasion, the Vietnam Children's Fund, through its mobilization activities, has collected many meaningful gifts for disadvantaged children in Dan Lai. During the festival, 50 bicycles, worth 85 million VND, 150 scholarships, worth 150 million VND, and 600 gifts and moon cakes worth 90 million VND were presented to 600 children.

The scholarships and gifts given to Dan Lai students are rewards to encourage them to be more confident, overcome all obstacles to integrate into the community, and strive to excel in their studies and life.
| The Dan Lai ethnic group is a small community, with about 3,000 people living in Moi, Thach Son, Cua Rao, Khe Bu, Co Phat and Ban Bung villages (Con Cuong district). These are villages living in mountainous areas, where incestuous marriages have led to poor physical and mental development and longevity. Due to their isolated lives from other ethnic groups, the educational level of the Dan Lai people is very low and they are at risk of extinction. Currently, with the attention of the Party and the State, many policies specifically for the Dan Lai ethnic group have been implemented, including a policy to gradually move them out of their old residential areas to resettlement areas. |

This year, with the theme “We journey with life”, the Party Committee, government and people of this mountainous commune show their concern and give the best to children, ensuring that they live in a safe and healthy environment; especially for children with disabilities and those in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghia Xuan commune allocated nearly 10 million VND to present 20 gifts to 20 children and 2 bicycles to 2 children in difficult circumstances in the commune. At the ceremony, AIA Insurance Company presented 15 bicycles worth 30 million VND to 17 students in especially difficult circumstances with good academic achievements and awarded 100 scholarships worth 50 million VND./.
