(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at the working session with the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, comrade Keo Uodone Sengmanivong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union affirmed that the activities of the youth of the two countries with specific and practical actions have demonstrated the efforts of the youth in cultivating the fine traditional friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

On the afternoon of September 12, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a working session to discuss the work of the Youth Union and youth movements with the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

On the side of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, there was comrade Keo Uodone Sengmanivong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Youth Union, and comrades and cadres of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

On the side of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, there were comrade Tran Hoai Minh - Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Committee of the International Department and comrades representing the Central Committees of the Youth Union.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; the Nghe An Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs; the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province; the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union; the Provincial Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies; the Provincial Youth Union of the Provincial Enterprises, the Youth Union of the Public Security, the Vinh City Youth Union, leaders of the Youth Volunteer Force Command Board, and the Nghe An Provincial Youth and Children's Activity Center.

The working session is part of a series of activities of the program "Following the footsteps of leaders" in 2022 organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in coordination with the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

At the same time, concretize the contents of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the period 2017 - 2022 and practically celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022).

Speaking at the meeting, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Secretary Le Van Luong emphasized that Nghe An has a 468 km long border with Laos through the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Bolikhamxay and Hua Phan. Promoting the precious sentiments that the two Parties and the two States have worked hard to cultivate, in recent times, Nghe An youth have had many very effective coordination activities with the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, especially the three provinces that share the border.

Notable among these are the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, the annual organization of excellent Youth Unions to visit, exchange and learn experiences in Union work and youth movements, visit historical sites, and learn about youth economic development models.

During the annual Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee organized international volunteer teams in Laos with many meaningful activities such as: teaching Vietnamese; visiting, giving gifts and helping families and children in difficult circumstances; repairing lighting systems for houses; providing free health check-ups, consultations and medicine; instructing people on farming and livestock techniques, and building the VACR economic model. These activities have left a good impression, recognized and highly appreciated by local leaders and people.

From practical experience in building Youth Volunteer Teams and Youth Villages in the province, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union was assigned by the Central Youth Union to support the construction of a Vietnam-Laos friendship border youth village in Bolikhamxay province by sending cadres to directly participate in training on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques for union members, youth and people.

Currently, the total number of Lao students studying at schools in the province is nearly 600. And on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year of the Lao people every year, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee organizes cultural and artistic exchange activities, Vietnamese speaking competitions; organizes visits and New Year greetings to Lao students living and studying at universities and colleges in Nghe An province.

In the work of the Youth Union and Youth Movement, closely following the direction of the Central Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee is currently implementing 3 major movements: Volunteer Youth Movement, Creative Youth Movement, "Youth Volunteers to Protect the Fatherland" Movement and organizing programs to accompany young people: Accompanying young people in studying; Accompanying young people in starting a business; Accompanying young people in training and developing life skills, improving physical fitness, cultural and spiritual life.

In recent times, the youth of Vietnam and Laos in general, the provinces sharing the border and Nghe An in particular, have had many specific cooperation activities, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by all classes of people. That is a testament to the efforts of the youth in cultivating the fine traditional friendship of the two peoples.

From the achievements that have been made, in the coming time, he hopes that the youth of both sides will continue to preserve and promote that precious tradition, so that the Vietnam - Laos brotherly friendship will last forever with the two peoples and create a solid foundation, contributing to improving the economic and social life of both countries.

On the afternoon of September 12, the Central delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union visited the Israeli-standard melon model of Mr. Nguyen Chinh Son - an economic development youth of Dong Son Association (Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc).

The model covers an area of ​​over 4,000 m2, of which 200 m2 is used to cultivate 1,900 melon trees and 2,000 m2 to grow mixed fruit trees. Revenue per crop reaches over 150 million VND and creates jobs for 4 local workers.
