Mr. Kim and his wife, Ms. Vi Thi Lan, were former Youth Volunteers of C11 Dinh River Regiment, joined the Youth Volunteers on March 26, 1973, and were discharged on March 26, 1975. Currently, the family is engaged in agriculture. The family is a poor household with 7 members: 2 spouses, a weak old father, 2 parents of the eldest mute child and 2 grandchildren. The economic income depends on a few acres of rice fields and crop production on the fields.
The current house of the family of former Youth Volunteer Ha Hoang Kim was built in 1996, with a wooden frame, roofed with corrugated iron and thatched roof, and temporarily covered with wooden planks and bamboo fences. It is now seriously degraded.
At the ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed the deep gratitude of the young generation to the former Youth Volunteer Force who contributed to bringing a peaceful life to the next generation.
The construction and donation of gratitude houses to former Youth Volunteers not only solves the housing difficulties for families with preferential policies but also has great humanitarian significance, it is a responsibility, a practical and concrete action of the movement of gratitude, remembering the source of water; at the same time, it also shows the gratitude of the young generation, of the Youth Union members for the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations. This is one of the projects in the 2017 Summer Youth Volunteers campaign and celebrates the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
