Central Youth Union selected 10 young people to visit Truong Sa, DK1 Platform

The Central Youth Union organized a competition to select 10 outstanding youth delegates to participate in the program "Youth journey for the homeland's sea and islands" in 2017. The 10 successful candidates will participate in exchange activities with officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform.

On this trip, the young people will visit, receive gifts, and participate in cultural and artistic exchange activities with soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK platform.

Young people applying for the "Youth Journey for the Homeland's Sea and Islands" are Vietnamese citizens from 18 to 35 years old (special cases will be decided by the Journey Organizing Committee); in good health, especially not suffering from seasickness, motion sickness, or airsickness.

Candidates need to have knowledge and ability to propagate about the sea and islands, clearly understand the sovereignty of the Truong Sa archipelago and the movements and activities of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; have knowledge about the country's politics, economy, culture and society. Priority is given to candidates who have researched and proposed solutions to support waste treatment, growing vegetables, providing electricity, fresh water for daily life, etc. (research has been tested in practice).

In addition, each candidate must have good discipline and solidarity; ability to work in a team, ability to organize and participate in collective activities; talent in art or sports; experience in social work, Youth Union and Student Association activities.

The selection of delegates consists of 2 rounds. Round 1 is to review application documents for the program. Round 2 is to interview candidates directly in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Deadline for receiving Central level applications: 17:00, April 10, 2017 (applications will not be returned to delegates). The Organizing Committee will contact directly with candidates who pass the first round of application review.

Application documents include:

- 01 action program or written plan about your ideas in propaganda work and organizing activities towards the sea and islands before, during and after participating in the trip.

- CV certified by the cadre management agency or the Youth Union or Association where you study or work.

- Summary of the candidate's achievements and contributions to the activities of the Youth Union/Association; confirmed by the grassroots Youth Union/Association organization.

- Health certificate (issued by a hospital at district level or higher).

- Notarized copy of ID card or passport.

- Two 4cm x 6cm photos taken on a white background; one natural photo.

- Photocopy of certificate, commendation certificate… personal achievements of the candidate (if any).
