Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee inspects election work in Do Luong

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 22, comrade Nguyen Van Thong, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee inspected the election work in Do Luong district.

Also attending was comrade Truong Hong Phuc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Election Committee of Do Luong district.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong talked with election officials and voters at polling station No. 1 in Xuan Son commune, where 50% of Catholics in Son La parish live.

Do Luong district has 32 communes, 1 town, and 243 polling stations. Through inspection, it was found that the polling stations of Do Luong district were fully prepared with material and technical conditions to serve the election according to regulations; the opening ceremony was held on time, and voters were excited to participate in exercising their civil rights.

Inspecting the election work in Xuan Son commune, comrade Nguyen Van Thong visited and talked with priest Hoang Duc Luyen, parish priest of Son La. On the morning of May 22, priest Hoang Duc Luyen attended the opening ceremony and was the first person to cast his vote at polling station No. 1 in Xuan Son commune.

The political security situation and social order and safety during the election were serious, there were no arising situations that required handling or asking for the opinions of competent authorities to direct the resolution. As of 11:00 a.m. on the same day, the total number of voters in the district was 113,373/143,870, reaching a rate of 78.8%.

At the polling stations in Da Son, Xuan Son, Minh Son, and Quang Son communes, comrade Nguyen Van Thong met and talked with voters, encouraging everyone to carefully research the candidates to choose the right person with enough talent and virtue to fulfill the role of elected representatives.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong inspected the election work at polling station No. 5 (including 2 hamlets Van Minh and Quang Minh), Minh Son commune.
