(Baonghean.vn) - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Phuc Hop commented that some localities' responses to the press were still general and needed to stick to the content reported by the press to respond more specifically and realistically.

Evaluating the press work in May and early June 2017, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department affirmed that the province's press agencies closely followed the direction and orientation of the Central Propaganda Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and the province's political tasks, promptly reflecting and reporting on important political and current events of the province and the country.

Specifically, in May, many outstanding political and current affairs activities were well implemented by press agencies in the direction of propaganda. Some political, current affairs and cultural events were clearly reflected such as: the visit and work of Comrade Tran Dai Quang - Politburo member, President in Nghe An; activities to celebrate the 127th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh; the 63rd anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory; the anniversary of International Labor Day; Cua Lo Tourism Festival, etc.

In the economic and social fields, the press continues to promote its function of criticism and social supervision. Many cases have been discovered and reported promptly by press agencies, attracting public attention and contributing to helping units, localities and authorities to inspect and handle such cases as: It is necessary to stop using construction waste for construction; Granting a 15-year gold mining license in Tuong Duong: Concerns about the consequences; Violations by officials, land turning into wasteland...

In particular, the arrest of Hoang Duc Binh, through propaganda from newspapers and radio stations, received high public approval. After Hoang Duc Binh was arrested, priest Nguyen Dinh Thuc called to incite extremist parishioners to block National Highway 1A; local press agencies were very active in refuting false arguments aimed at inciting parishioners to sue Formosa and speak ill of the regime.

Attending the conference, representatives of press agencies shared opinions, exchanged information and had their questions answered on a number of issues of concern.

Concluding the conference, comrade Ho Phuc Hop requested that newspapers must be accurate and honest in reporting news, avoiding the phenomenon of distorting and distorting information.
