This morning, November 15, in Vinh City, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the school's founding (1967-2012). Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Artist Dao Manh Hung - Director of the Department of Training - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and representatives of 33 universities and colleges of culture and arts across the country.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Artist Dao Manh Hung - Director of the Department of Training - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and representatives of 33 universities and colleges of culture and arts across the country.

At the ceremony, Dr. Phan Mau Canh - Principal of the school gave a speech reviewing the past 45 years of tradition. In October 1967, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 2296 to establish the Cultural Vocational School. Twelve years later, in 1979, the People's Committee of Nghe Tinh province continued to sign the Decision to establish the Intermediate School of Culture and Arts on the basis of the Cultural Vocational School. In 1994, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to upgrade from a type II vocational school to a type I school. In particular, in March 2004, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a Decision to establish the Nghe An College of Culture and Arts on the basis of the Intermediate School of Culture and Arts.

With a 45-year tradition, the school has overcome many difficulties and challenges to become a major training center in the region, training thousands of students each year, contributing to providing human resources in culture, arts and tourism in Nghe An province and the North Central region. The school's staff and lecturers are annually strengthened in quantity and quality, with basic training, solid professional qualifications and love for the profession. Up to now, 100% of staff and lecturers have university and post-university degrees (of which more than 50% have master's and doctoral degrees).

Currently, the school is training 10 majors in Music, Fine Arts, Cultural Management, Library Information and Tourism; continuing to expand the scale of training; cooperating in multi-level training (Intermediate, College, University), and training in the work-study system with universities nationwide such as: Hanoi University of Culture, Hanoi Conservatory of Music, University of Music Education, Hue University of Fine Arts, University of Theater and Cinema. With the above contributions, the school was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal, Second Class Labor Medal and many awards from central ministries and branches of the province.

At the ceremony, comrade Ho Duc Phoc, on behalf of the Government, presented the Government's excellent emulation flag to the school, presented the banner of the Provincial People's Committee and awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to Mr. Phan Mau Canh - Principal and Mr. Nguyen Khac Tien - Former Vice Principal of the school; comrade Dao Manh Hung presented the excellent emulation flag of the Department of Culture to the school and spoke in recognition of the achievements that the school has strived to achieve over the past 45 years. On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation presented the flag to the outstanding unit in the emulation movement of good workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc emphasized: In the coming time, the School needs to improve the quality of teaching and scientific research, creativity in art, to meet the inevitable requirements of the country's increasing development. At the same time, strive to quickly implement the Project of Nghe An University of Culture, Arts and Tourism. The School must be the foundation, a place to train, promote, preserve the national cultural identity, culture, promote and preserve folk songs of Nghe An. Continue to innovate management work, build a team of qualified and above-standard staff and lecturers, continue to expand the scale of training, scientific research, strengthen the construction of facilities to meet the needs of training human resources in culture and arts for the North Central region, gradually build the school into Nghe An University of Culture, Arts and Tourism in the period of 2013 - 2015.
