Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology, formerly Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College, was established under Decision 1727/QD.UBND dated December 4, 1998 of the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee with non-refundable aid from the Korean government to Vietnam. The budget of the Korean Government Project, Phase I, is 5 million USD; Nghe An province's counterpart capital is 5.2 hectares of land and 11 billion VND.
On February 15, 2007, the school was upgraded to Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College according to Decision 258/QD-BLD-TBXH of the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. The Korean Government continued to invest in phase II with a total value of 2.45 million USD and counterpart capital of Nghe An province of 2.3 hectares of land and nearly 30 billion VND.
The school has the function and task of training skilled technical workers in all three levels of vocational college, intermediate vocational school and primary vocational school; providing human resources to serve the cause of industrialization of the country in the province and the whole country. Cooperating in training with domestic and international schools; consulting on job introduction, exporting labor after training.

The advantage of the school is that it has received investment from the project sponsored by the Korean Government and the support of the Provincial People's Committee, so the school's facilities meet the training requirements. On a 7.6-hectare campus, the school is planned quite completely with a system of offices, lecture halls, practice workshops, sports and recreation areas, physical education, green areas, ensuring the training and education of students.
Determining the quality of training as a vital task, training must be associated with job creation, so the school considers training, fostering and improving the qualifications and capacity of the teaching staff to be a top priority. From 30 staff and teachers, the school now has over 180 staff and teachers, of which over 130 teachers, 1.7% have doctoral degrees; 75% of teachers have master's degrees, 99% of teachers have university degrees, 1% of teachers are high-level workers and retired experienced teachers participating in teaching. 95% of teachers meet the standards of pedagogical skills, over 30% of teachers have studied and researched in Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Australia.
All staff and teachers are assigned to work according to their training major. The management staff is trained in professional skills, expertise and political level according to their titles and meet the required standards. From 2010 to 2014: the school has trained 5,297 students in vocational colleges and intermediate vocational schools, of which 3,621 students have graduated, 80% have jobs; Short-term training: 950 students; Korean and Japanese language training for labor export: 3,978 workers; Joint training, part-time university: 340 students.
1,200 students of the school have gone to work in Korea, Japan, Taiwan... 8 students were recognized as national vocational students, including 3 students who won first, second and third prizes, 1 student won the Asean silver medal and was able to participate in the 2015 World Skills Competition in Brazil.
The most gratifying thing about a vocational school is that every year, graduates are counseled and given jobs. Over 90% of graduates have jobs, such as working abroad in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, working in industrial parks, factories, and enterprises in Nghe An, the North, the South, and the Central regions.
The school has created a close relationship between the training unit and manufacturing enterprises to create conditions for students to practice and find job opportunities after graduation such as Hyundai Shipbuilding Company in Quy Nhon; Samsung Company in Bac Ninh; Posco Company in Vung Tau; Hong Hai Group Taiwan, Formosa Ha Tinh Group; BSE, Emtech, Haivina Kim Lien Company in Nghe An, Vietnamese corporations such as Lilama, Vinaconex and domestic and foreign enterprises located in the province.
In recognition of its achievements, the school has been awarded the Third and Second Class Labor Medals by the President, and many Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Provincial People's Committee, Vinh City Party Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Many teachers have been awarded excellent teachers of the province and the country, and have won the Science and Technology Innovation Award of Nghe An province.

Building high quality vocational training schools
It can be affirmed that, after 16 years of construction and development, Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology is gradually affirming its "brand" in the field of vocational training. The proof is that the school's enrollment rate every year meets and exceeds the target. The employment rate for students after graduation is 90% - that is the dream number of many vocational schools today.
Teacher Pham Van Viet (born in 1988) - a former student of the school, who won the ASEAN vocational skills encouragement prize, after graduating, he was retained as a lecturer at the school, said: In the teaching process, to help students quickly access many types of modern machinery and equipment, the teachers themselves must strive to explore, learn, improve their skills, and cultivate new foreign languages to meet the requirements of regional and international integration, especially when the school is in the process of striving to become a high-quality vocational school.
With the efforts of teachers and support from the Korean Government, in January 2015, the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College held the Launching Ceremony of the project "Upgrading the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College" phase III (2014 - 2016) with a value of 6 million USD from non-refundable aid from the Korean Government and 30 billion VND of counterpart capital from Nghe An province.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Choi Ki Sup - Project Expert, highly appreciated the achievements of the school and with his role, he will fulfill his responsibility in building the school's development strategy in the next 5 years, 10 years, first of all, successfully implementing the Phase III Project.
This can be considered a condition to ensure human resources and material resources to help the school move faster towards the goal of becoming a high-quality school with 6 criteria according to Decision 761 of the Prime Minister, which is the training scale: at least 2,000 students of vocational secondary schools and colleges, of which at least 30% of students study key occupations. Employment after training: At least 80% of students and graduates have jobs in the right profession within 6 months after graduation, of which key occupations reach at least 90%.
Qualifications of students after training: 100% of students graduating from vocational secondary schools reach level 2/5, vocational college students reach level 3/5 of the national vocational skills standards and have computer skills that meet IC3 standards or equivalent, English language proficiency of 300 TOEIC points or equivalent or higher. Regarding quality assessment: The school meets level 3 of vocational college quality assessment standards; 100% of trained occupations meet training program quality assessment standards. Regarding teachers and lecturers: 100% of teachers meet the prescribed standards, have IC3 computer skills or equivalent or higher, English language proficiency of 350 TOEIC points or equivalent or higher. Regarding school management: 100% of school managers are granted certificates of training in vocational training management. And when those 6 criteria are achieved, the school's annual enrollment target will focus on 7 key occupations with an average flow of 3,220 students.
