In recent times, Nghe An Police and the Police of Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan, and Bolykhamxay provinces have organized well the work of grasping, forecasting the situation, exchanging information on the plots of various types of criminals, especially transnational criminals and wanted criminals hiding in the border areas of the two countries; doing a good job of checking and controlling entry and exit activities, preventing and handling violators and vehicles; promoting the effectiveness of the Liaison Office for cross-border drug prevention between Nghe An and 3 provinces of Laos, thereby promptly exchanging information to dismantle transnational drug trafficking rings, actively contributing to reducing the amount of drugs smuggled across the border. Violations of border regulations still occur frequently, Lao PDR has returned to Nghe An 30 households, 158 Mong people in Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts who illegally resided in Laos.
