JICA Vietnam Chief Representative conducts survey in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The Japan International Cooperation Agency visited and surveyed the effectiveness of several locations in Nghe An that have been receiving capital and technical support from Japan.
On the morning of April 25, a delegation of JICA in Vietnam led by Mr. Fujita Yasuo - Chief Representative of JICA Office in Vietnam visited and surveyed a number of locations in Nghe An. Accompanying the delegation to Nghe An province were comrades: Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. |
During the trip, the delegation visited and surveyed Mr. Phan Thai Xuan's chicken farm model in Xuan Son 1 hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune, Thanh Chuong district.
This is a model supported by JICA in providing technical advice on livestock farming, supplying the market with 2-3 batches of broiler chickens each year, serving the needs of consumers in and outside the province.

The chickens are raised on hills and fed organic food such as earthworms mixed with rice bran, leaves and fermented cassava roots, etc. to ensure meat quality and contribute to building the collective brand of certified Thanh Chuong chickens.

Next, the JICA delegation came to learn about the pilot model of tea processing technology for green tea powder (matcha) processing at Mr. Pham Van Quy's household in Hamlet 5, Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District.

Since 2016, this factory has been supported by JICA to equip it with a tea leaf steamer, using steam to remove some impurities mixed in the newly harvested tea leaves. Currently, the output of the factory is being guaranteed by JICA, and if it proves to be highly feasible, the pilot model will be expanded.

On the same afternoon, the delegation visited the field of the project to restore and upgrade the Northern Nghe An irrigation works at the following locations: Ba Ra dam (Do Luong), N2 canal (Yen Thanh) and Dien Thanh drainage culvert (Dien Chau). This project is supported by JICA loans and the Central Government's counterpart funds. When completed, it will create favorable conditions for irrigation in localities./.
