On December 27, Hanoi University held a ceremony to install the "Confucius Institute" sign at the University with the participation of high-ranking representatives from Vietnam and China.

Attending the plaque-mounting ceremony, on the Vietnamese side were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Tran Dac Loi, Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Luan, President of Hanoi University.

Associate Professor, Doctor of Science Nguyen Dinh Luan, Rector of Hanoi University, stated: The ceremony of placing the sign “Confucius Institute” at Hanoi University is an important event in the development process of the university. The establishment of the Confucius Institute contributes to promoting the research and teaching of Chinese language and culture at the university, while also contributing to consolidating and developing the friendly relationship between the people of Vietnam and China.

At the plaque-mounting ceremony, the principals of Hanoi University and Guangxi Normal University (China) signed two letters with the content "Wishing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China to grow more and more."

On this occasion, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng planted a commemorative tree at the Confucius Institute campus.

Established in 1959, with 55 years of construction and development, Hanoi University is one of the leading public universities training and providing human resources at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in languages, social sciences, economics and information technology. Chinese is one of the languages ​​that has been researched and taught since the early days of the school. Generations of Chinese students who have graduated from the school have been taking on many important positions in agencies, organizations and enterprises in Vietnam.
