Mr. Nguyen Hong Soa, Secretary of the school's Youth Union, said: "This year, Vinh University has a large number of voters, including 18,000 students, most of whom are exercising their rights and obligations as citizens in the election for the first time. According to regulations, students residing permanently or temporarily in a locality can vote in that locality. Only students residing in the school's dormitory and residing permanently or temporarily in block 6 of Ben Thuy ward can participate in the election at the school. From May 16 to 20, 2011, the Department of Political Affairs - Students proactively coordinated with the trade union, youth union, and student association to organize propaganda about the election of deputies to the 13th National Assembly and the election of People's Councils at all levels for the 2011-2016 term for each class, grasping students' awareness of the obligations and rights of voters... creating a widespread political movement throughout the school. The school's election team regularly propagates widely broadcast on the loudspeaker system about the election, the Election Law, the obligations and rights of voters, mobilize school staff, civil servants and students to participate in the election fully, on time, with a high sense of responsibility, and fully exercise the rights and obligations of citizens..."
To celebrate the election day, Vinh University's Youth Union also organized an exchange night "Vinh University students with the national festival". At the exchange, the school's staff and students had the opportunity to directly exchange and listen to the candidates for the 3rd National Assembly share about their contributions, current work and their thoughts, concerns and actions if they are elected to the National Assembly this time by voters.
